Former 2016 Republican Presidential Candidate

Engineer and perennial candidate

Lowell Jackson Fellure
Born: October 3rd, 1931  (age 85)
Lowell Jackson “Jack” Fellure was born in Midkiff, West Virginia, and currently resides in the town of Hurricane in the same state. He does not choose to reveal his alma mater, but he was trained as an engineer – an occupation from which, now an elderly man, he is retired.

Fellure is no stranger to presidential runs, and is nothing if not persistent. He's been chasing the prize for nearly three decades, running in every presidential election since 1988. In each and every one of these races, he made a Republican bid, with the sole exception of his 2012 campaign; there, he initially ran Republican, then chose to change course and seek the nod of the Prohibition Party. In this, he finally succeeded, securing Prohibition's nomination. On election day, his name appeared on the ballot in only one state – Louisiana – where he received 518 votes. For the 2016 race, he is back with the GOP, having declared himself a Republican candidate.

Fellure boasts a solid devotion to Christian religious faith, which informs virtually every aspect of his policy positions. During one of his many presidential runs, in 1992, when asked to submit his political platform to the Federal Election Commission, Fellure provided a copy of the 1611 King James Bible. He promises that, if elected President, copies of that specific version of the Bible will remain open in the Oval Office, turned to passages he considers of particular importance for the President to remember.

Inspired by his faith, Fellure's opinions and intentions place him deep on the right of the political spectrum. He opposes abortion and especially the use of public money to fund the procedure, supports the death penalty as a mandate by God, and is for gun rights. He also calls for making homosexuality illegal in the belief that this will be of help in combating the spread of AIDS, and – as might be gleaned from his previous affiliation with the Prohibition Party – for the banning of alcohol.

Fellure's strongly conservative positions and unshakeable Christian faith are likely to draw the approval of the political right, up to and including those identifying with the Tea Party, where his support will perhaps be strongest. However, many of his religiously-based leanings risk striking a majority of American voters as extreme, and may have difficulty finding sympathetic ears. Whatever his chances, as a man in his 80's, Fellure would be the oldest President in American history should he manage to win the big chair.
